The African American Youth Harvest Foundation was recently featured by CBS Austin / KEYE in a local news story highlighting a community dinner focused on youth violence prevention, restorative justice, and expanding support for young people across Travis County.
The story covered a gathering hosted at AAYHF’s ranch in Manor, where teens, community leaders, local officials, Cities United, Life Anew, and other partners came together for meaningful conversation over dinner. The event created space for young people to share their experiences, discuss challenges facing their communities, and talk directly with leaders about solutions that can help reduce violence and increase opportunity.
CBS Austin also highlighted AAYHF’s work using equine therapy to support teens and young adults impacted by violence, inequity, and trauma. The feature connected the evening’s conversation to broader community needs, including after-school programming, mentorship, career pathways, restorative justice, safe spaces, and continued investment in youth-centered programs.
This media feature reflects AAYHF’s ongoing mission to serve youth, families, and communities through programs that promote healing, leadership, education, prevention, and long-term opportunity. By bringing young people and decision-makers to the same table, AAYHF continues to help build stronger relationships and community-driven solutions.
