Bringing Innovation Home

AAYHF Strengthens Its Future Through Global AI Leadership Insights

Empowering Our Community Through Innovation and AI Leadership

From being selected for a prestigious national cohort to participating in a transformative leadership experience in New York City, the African American Youth Harvest Foundation is stepping boldly into the future of innovation and bringing that momentum home to our community.

AAYHF is proud to share that Mrs. Elaine Lofton recently represented our organization at the AI Leadership Lab in New York as part of the Youth Skills & Employment Accelerator, an exciting national opportunity to collaborate with leading nonprofits and industry partners.

Through this experience, Ms. Elaine gained powerful insights into artificial intelligence, innovative leadership, and forward-thinking strategies that will help strengthen our programs and expand opportunities for the youth and families we serve. We’re energized to bring these ideas home and continue building a future where our community doesn’t just keep up but leads.

Community Partnerships & Impact

AAYHF community partnership event

AAYHF Joins Forces at BMBB 2026 for a Night of Culture, Community & Giving

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, AAYHF was proud to be part of Bollywood Meets Borscht Belt 2026, an extraordinary evening that brought together Austin’s Hindu, Jewish, and African American communities through culture, connection, and service.

The event, hosted by HC4A, brought together local nonprofits, community leaders, and generous donors for live performances, inspiring voices, and a shared meal in support of Back-to-School supplies for underserved youth across the Greater Austin area.

A special congratulations to Gulshan Singh and Alok Singh for organizing a successful and memorable event, and to all partner organizations and donors who made it possible. AAYHF is especially proud that Kelia Hopkins served as a featured artist for the evening.

AAYHF leadership in New York

AAYHF Expands Its Reach from New York to Austin Through Innovation and Partnership

The African American Youth Harvest Foundation continues to elevate its impact both nationally and locally through leadership, innovation, and strong community connections.

While in New York, AAYHF leadership, including Mr. Michael Lofton, engaged with national partners and associates, strengthening relationships and gaining insight into trends shaping the future of workforce and education.

Upon returning to Austin, Mr. Lofton continued building community connections, including a visit to Dell Diamond during a Round Rock Express game, reinforcing AAYHF’s presence across national and regional spaces.

Black Mamas Bailout: Community in Action

AAYHF was honored to stand alongside community partners for the Black Mamas Bailout, an inspiring demonstration of collective care, advocacy, and second chances in action.

From preparing welcome-home care packages to providing critical support in housing, employment, food, clothing, and hygiene, AAYHF played an active role in ensuring women returning home were met with dignity and care.

This moment serves as a reminder that when community comes together with purpose and compassion, real change happens.

Growing Our Impact: Community Health Worker Training

We’re proud to celebrate a major milestone at AAYHF. Three dedicated team members, Soleece, Tarrance, and Teilani, have successfully completed the Community Health Worker Program through El Buen.

This achievement reflects their commitment to deepening their knowledge and strengthening the holistic support AAYHF provides to families across our community.
